The Apostleship of the Sea logo denotes the three beacons guiding and welcoming seafarers to a safe haven, now and for eternity. The rays of light (faith) reach for and touch the life preserver (hope) while emanating from a warm heart (charity) upon the anchor of stability.

The British & International Sailors' Society
The British & International Sailors’ Society operates across the globe providing facilities for the World’s 1.5 million seafarers and affording assistance to them and their families, whenever and wherever this is needed.
The Society is inter-denominational and, in Seafarers’ Centres or aboard ship, our Chaplains are always ready to provide advice and assistance – irrespective of a person’s belief or nationality.

The Mission to Seafarers
The Mission to Seafarers, formerly called The Missions to Seamen, is a missionary society of the Anglican Church, which cares for the spiritual and practical welfare of all seafarers regardless of nationality or faith.
Through our network of chaplains, staff and volunteers in 300 ports worldwide, we reach out to them by visiting them on their ships, offering a welcome and whatever help may be needed.
In over 100 ports we run centres where seafarers can relax away from their ships, get local information, find help with problems, share worship and telephone or email home.

The International Christian Maritime Association (ICMA)
The International Christian Maritime Association (ICMA) is a free association of 27 Christian non-profit organisations engaged in welfare work for seafarers who include those working on merchant, fishing and passenger vessels.

The Merchant Navy Welfare Board
The principal objectives of the Board are assessing the welfare needs of merchant seafarers and their dependants and the co-ordination of the work of the societies and charitable organisations concerned with the provision of welfare services.

Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners' Royal Benevolent Society
The Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners' Royal Benevolent Society is a registered charity whose object is to relieve distress amongst the seafaring community by making grants to merchant seafarers and fishermen, their widows and dependants in cases of need.

CHIRP Confidential Reporting for the Aviation and Maritime Communities
The Charity's objects are to carry out research on the causes of incidents and accidents involving aviation and maritime modes of transportation through a confidential reporting system for the collection of Human Factors safety related issues, to analyse data and identify trends, and to advise interested bodies on Human Factors issues relevant to air and maritime transport safety with the aim of the preservation of human life.

International Seafarers' Assistance Network (ISAN)
The International Seafarers' Assistance Network (ISAN) is a brand new organisation providing a unique service to the seafaring community. Established in October 2001 ISAN provides a link between seafarers and the organisations that provide services for them.
Our aim is to help seafarers and their families with any problems or questions they may have and ensure that they receive quick and helpful advice.

An international umbrella organisation dedicated to the practical implementation of the International Labour Organisation instruments on Seafarers’ Welfare. Convention 163 & Recommendation 173.

Seafarers’ Health Information Programme
Run by the ICSW, the programme seeks to help seafarers take responsibility for certain aspects of their own health, through the provision of clear and concise information on 7 life style related topics:
Food Safety, Fit Onboard, Safe Travel, Healthy Food, Malaria, Overweight and HIV/AIDS/STD.
The website will carry electronic copies of all material developed under the programme, plus news articles, results of feedback and other essential information relevant to seafarers, ship owners, operators, and other organisations involved with seafarers.

International Sport for Seafarers (ISS)
Sport for Seafarers has undergone substantial growth during the past four years thanks to a development programme funded by the ITF Seafarers’ Trust. The new site will give immediate access to the latest results, where to play sport, how centres can join this growing movement and allow participating centres to submit results online.

Center for Seafarers' Rights
The Center counsels and assists seafarers with legal and work-related problems, trains port chaplains and seafarers' agencies how to respond to legal problems encountered in the course of ministering to seafarers, and shares its observations with government policy makers and others in the maritime industry who are in a position to improve the well-being of merchant seafarers.
